Our customer eBadges are the Nation’s leading retailer and manufacturer of badge making equipment. They continuously work hard to become more eco-friendly and more sustainable, from the making of products to their carbon footprint.
In the badge industry, it is hard to get away from plastic as it is the most effective product used to make badge backs. That said all of the badge backs from eBadges are recyclable. Furthermore, eBadges have been looking at eco-friendly alternatives and have recently started selling 25mm badge sets that include degradable PLA Mylar.
All three machines that eBadges offer; the Micro, Mini and Maxi, are made in the UK from aluminium, a sustainable and highly recyclable metal. The machines are robust and durable -designed for repeatable use.
WHAT IS PLA?
Polylactic Acid (PLA) is different than most thermoplastic polymers as it is derived from renewable resources like corn starch or sugar cane. Polylactic Acid is biodegradable, and you can use it as a substitute with existing manufacturing processes.
At eBadges, not only are they trying to move towards being more sustainable and more eco-friendly with the products they sell. eBadges is also aware that the packaging used needs to be as environmentally friendly as possible. The 25mm eco-friendly components they sell are packaged in biodegradable bags. As they develop this range across the other sizes, the hope is that the majority of the components will be packaged in the same way.
Single-use plastic is a big problem within the world and one eBadges is looking at reducing wherever possible.
To further help with their carbon footprint, eBadges uses our Contract Packing Department to rework items they require. This dramatically reduced its carbon footprint by not having to ship items around the country to be reworked.
They simply place an order with our Contract Packing Department for the work to start and then products are returned straight back up once complete. The time-saving element is also key for eBadges and really works well for them and the busy nature of their business.
eBadges are proud to have a very low carbon footprint with all their components coming from a radius of only 70 miles. This is incredible for the business and a great attribute to them. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions could prevent Global warming.
The surge in carbon dioxide levels due to human activity since the Industrial Revolution is now causing an overall warming of the planet that is having impacts around the globe and so to have a low carbon footprint is essential to do your part for the world.
We are very proud to be working alongside eBadges and being a part of the changes to become more sustainable and eco-friendly. In 2020, it is essential for every business to do their part to secure a better future and crackdown on the use of plastic, a large carbon footprint and make a change.
This can lead to saving with practices such as energy conservation, recycling, use of water-saving devices, energy-efficient equipment, solar power and reduced waste help keep costs down. It has proven time and time again to be far more efficient making your business more streamline.
